NFC (Near Field Communication) tags are small, cheap physical stickers you can place anywhere, and Habitify can use them as a physical trigger for your habits. Instead of unlocking your phone, opening the app, and finding the right habit to check off, you tap your phone against a tag and the check-in happens for you. The idea is to create real, physical touchpoints in your environment that connect directly to your habits, turning your space into an extension of your habit system instead of something separate from it. A tag stuck to your gym bag can trigger your “Workout” habit; one on your bookshelf can trigger “Read”; one by your bed can trigger “Sleep.” The habit becomes something you bump into during your day, not something you have to remember to open an app for.

  • Scan the tag with your phone, and get a push notification.
  • Tap on the push notification to open the app, having the action executed as you set.
Keep your Habitify app running in the background for the best experience. If your app is completely closed, scanning the NFC tag and tapping on the push notification will only open the Journal view rather than completing your intended action seamlessly.
