# Circle

A Habitify circle is your private space to connect, share, and grow with the people who matter most to you. It is a small group where you and other members share progress on specific habits, cheer each other on, and hold one another accountable.

Imagine training for a marathon with your running buddies, learning a new language with classmates, or just committing to drinking more water with your family. Circle turns the solitary act of tracking habits into a collective, supportive, and genuinely fun experience.

This article will provides you all the details so you can start a circle with your family and friends.

    The member is immediately removed from the Circle. Their shared habits and future progress will no longer be visible or contribute to the group. This action does not affect the circle's past achievements; all milestones the group reached together will remain in your history.

    ## Managing the circle of other owners

    What happens next depends on the circle's privacy settings:

    * **If the circle is public**, you'll be added instantly. You can immediately enter the circle and see other members.
    * **If the circle is private**, a request will be sent to the circle's creator. You will see a confirmation that your request has been sent, and you'll be notified again once it's been approved.

    ### Leaving a circle of others

    1. In the circle, tap to switch to the '**About**' tab
    2. Scroll down to *Dangerous Area* at the bottom, and tap on the '**Leave this Circle'** button.
    3. A confirmation pop-up will appear, tap '**Leave**' to finalize your decision.

    <Warning>

      * You will lose access to the circle entirely, and no longer be able to see the progress or shared habits of any other members.
    </Warning>

    ## Managing your habits in a circle

    ### Sharing your habits to a circle

    Sharing your progress is the heart of a Habitify circle. It’s how you inspire others and get motivated in return.

    **To share your habits to a circle where you're a member:**

    * From *Friends*, open the circle you want to share your habits to.
    * In the circle, navigate to the member bar, and tap on your profile.
    * In the below space, tap the '**Selects Habits to Share'** button.
          <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ/images/Circle-SelectHabittoShare.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ&q=85&s=6ccb149684db4ed83495cad99737769c" alt="Circle Select Habitto Share" width="2798" height="1574" data-path="images/Circle-SelectHabittoShare.png" />
    * From the list of your habits, tap to select habits you wish to share with the circle.
    * When you're ready, tap the '**Next**' button in the top right corner.
    * Review the list one last time, and tap the '**Confirm**' or '**Save**' button to finalize your choice.

    **What is shared**

    Once you confirm, your shared habits become visible to everyone in the circle. This transparency is key to accountability and motivation. For each habit you share, members will see:

    <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ/images/Circle-SharedHabitView-1.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ&q=85&s=a6199706360aa15490b7f83f38fefcca" alt="Circle Shared Habit View 1" width="3038" height="1566" data-path="images/Circle-SharedHabitView-1.png" />

    * **Your habit's progress block map:** A visual block map showing your check-ins for the last 3 months of your habit, giving a great snapshot of your consistency.
    * **Your habit's goal:** The goal you've set for that habit.
    * **Your habit's current streak:** The current streak for the habit, a powerful motivator that the group can celebrate with you.

    ### Editing the list of your shared habits

    As you progress on your journey, you might want to share new ambitions with your Habitify circle or perhaps make a certain habit private again. Follow the steps:

    * From *Friends*, open the circle where you want to adjust your shared habits.
    * On the member bar, tap on your profile picture.
    * Scroll down to the bottom of your shared habit list, tap the '**Manage Shared Habits**' button.
          <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ/images/Circle-EditHabitstoShare.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=b3-a-GuCwPux25iJ&q=85&s=be7e26c58787b77b9ed3fcb27e4bbf79" alt="Circle Edit Habitsto Share" width="2445" height="1376" data-path="images/Circle-EditHabitstoShare.png" />
    * In the list of your habits, tap the habit to select or unselect it, a checkmark indicates the habit will be shared with the circle.
    * Once everything is set, tap the '**Next**' button in the top right corner.
    * Review the list one last time, and tap the '**Confirm**' or '**Save**' button to finalize your changes.

    <Note>
      Understanding what other members see after you make changes is important:

      * **When you add a new habit:** The newly shared habit will immediately appear on your profile within the circle. Other members will be able to see its progress map, your goal, and your current streak. However, its contribution to collective achievements like **Unity Streaks** will begin **from the next day**.
      * **When you stop sharing a habit:** The habit is immediately removed from your public profile within that circle. Other members will no longer be able to see its progress map or any other details. This action does not affect the circle's past achievement.
    </Note>

    ## **Understanding the Statistics tab**

    In your Habitify Circle, two key statistics measure your group's collective success and drive: the **Unity Streak** and **Momentum Points**. While both are powered by completing habits, they track different aspects of your team's performance.

    <Info>
      Your habit progress will be counted towards both the *Unity Streak* and *Momentum Points* **starting from the day after the day you share the habit.**
    </Info>

    ### Unity Streak

    The Unity Streak is the ultimate measure of your Circle's daily consistency. It shows how many days in a row *every active member* of the circle has completed at least one of their shared habits.

    <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7/images/Challenge-vs.-Circle-(3).png?fit=max&auto=format&n=R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7&q=85&s=5a95b67081a4ce12e48cfeec267338ef" alt="Challenge Vs Circle (3)" width="1382" height="777" data-path="images/Challenge-vs.-Circle-(3).png" />

    Here are the **<u>5 rules to keep the Unity Streak alive</u>**<u>:</u>

    1. Only **the completion** of a habit with **goal per day** and **scheduled to repeat 'Today'** is contributed to the Unity Streak.
    2. **If everyone completes at least one of their daily habit today**, then Unity Streak increases by 1. Marking a habit as 'Skipped' or 'Failed' is the same as not doing it.
    3. **The completion is counted** to the current day only when **the completion is made on the the current day and for the current day.**
    4. **If a member turns on Off Mode**, they are given a "free pass", the Unity Streak still can continue without them.
    5. **If every single member of the circle is in Off Mode at the same time**, the streak doesn't break. Instead, it freezes until the first person returns from Off Mode and completes a habit.

    From the *Statistics* tab, you can **tap on the Unity Streak** and see contribution status of all members: who have completed at least 1 habit today, who haven not, and who are free.

    ### Momentum Points

    Momentum Points are the simplest measure of your circle's total effort. This statistic shows the raw output of the group.

    <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7/images/Circle-MomentumPoint-1.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7&q=85&s=1b30eb670567f4c1bb2ae13026dae0f9" alt="Circle Momentum Point 1" width="1888" height="1062" data-path="images/Circle-MomentumPoint-1.png" />

    The rule is straightforward: **1 Completion = 1 Momentum Point**

    Every time any member completes any shared habit, one point is added to the circle's total Momentum score, regardless their goal type. It’s a running total of all the positive actions taken by the group.

    All members can get a intuitive view on the Momentum Points of the circle, including:

    * A trend chart that represents **the Momentum Points of each day** in the last 30 days.
    * **A total Momentum Point of the current week** with the Monday as the First day of the week. Once a new week starts (a new Monday comes), the Momentum Point of the week will be reset to 0.

    From the *Statistics* tab, you can **tap on the Momentum Points** to see the point of each members in the circle. This is a place where the circle can become more of gamification.

    ## Exploring the Activities tab

    Your Habitify circle is more than just a progress tracker; it's a living community. The very heart of that community is the **Activities** tab, think of it as a private social feed just for you and your group members.

    <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7/images/Circle-Activities.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=R-NIvjzQ9dhrSBN7&q=85&s=b6562002e0a3a1597956c341e6e1d3bb" alt="Circle Activities" width="4026" height="2265" data-path="images/Circle-Activities.png" />

    ### Getting updated with circle

    The Activities tab stays up-to-date with your circle's important moments automatically. The system will create posts for you when key events happen:

    * **A New Member Joins:** A friendly welcome post will appear, letting everyone know someone new has joined the team so you can all say hello.
    * **A Member's Streak Increases:** When someone successfully extends their streak on a shared habit, a celebratory post will be shared automatically. It’s the perfect opportunity to cheer on their consistency!

    ### Sharing your thoughts with circle

    Beyond the automated posts, you have the power to share your own thoughts, feelings, and updates with the group.

    1. In the *Activities* tab, tap on '**Share an Activity'** button
    2. In the post creating space, you can:
       1. Write something you want to share
       2. Tap 🏞️ to upload a picture, or 📷 to quickly take one with your phone's camera.
    3. Finally, tap the '**Post**' button in the top right corner to share it on the feed.

    ### Interacting with other posts in circle

    A community thrives on interaction. For every post in the Activities feed, whether it’s automated or shared by a member, you can:

    * **Send a reaction**: tap on the reaction button and choose the emoji that reflects your support, appreciation, or excitement the post.
    * **Leave a Comment:** tap on the post, then tap on the '*Add your reply*' input field, write your message, and tap ↑ to post your comment under a post.
    * **@ Mention Others:** in your comment, you can *@someone* who is also in the circle with you to get their attention or reply directly to them

    ## Sending reminders to members

    In any Habitify Circle, a little encouragement can make a big difference. To help you support your teammates, we've added the **Check-in** feature, which allows you to send a friendly, supportive reminder to another member about one of their shared habits, prompting them to complete it for the day.

    <img src="https://mintcdn.com/habitify/-DqA2Mk5lrnCbLsb/images/Circle-CheckIn.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=-DqA2Mk5lrnCbLsb&q=85&s=63cfff048c0706ad90d7de699430e69e" alt="Circle Check In" width="2669" height="1501" data-path="images/Circle-CheckIn.png" />

    To send a check-in reminder:

    1. In the circle, open the **Statistics** tab.
    2. On the member bar, tap on the profile of the member you want send a check-in
    3. Scroll down, look through their list and find the habit you’d like to remind them about.<br />Underneath the habit's progress blockmap, tap the '**Check-in**'button.

    The member will instantly receive a push notification on their device, prompting them *to check in* on that specific habit.

    <Note>
      **Rules of sending check-in reminder**

      * **One check-in per habit**: You can only tap the 'Check-in' button once for the same habit for each person within a 24-hour period.
      * **Five check-ins per person**: In total, you can send a maximum of 5 check-ins to any single person within 24 hours (meaning you can remind them about up to five different habits).

      The Check-in feature is designed to be a positive tool. Use it to support your friends when you think they might appreciate a gentle reminder to help keep the group's momentum going.
    </Note>

    ## **FAQs**

    <Accordion title="I cannot share my good habits to the circle, what should I do?">
      If your habit is a good habit, and you're trying to share your habit but it's still not working, it might be a temporary connection issue. Please try these quick fixes:

      * **Check your internet connection.**
      * **Fully close and reopen the Habitify app** to force a fresh sync.
      * **Restart your device.**

      If you've tried all of the above and are still unable to share a compatible habit, please contact our support team in **Settings > Contact Us** with the details of the habit and the circle's name, and we'll be happy to help!
    </Accordion>

    <Accordion title="Why can't I share a bad habit to the circle?">
      The entire concept of a Circle is built around positive, shared action and growth. The group's progress, Momentum Points, and Unity Streak are all calculated based on the contributions and successful check-ins of its members.

      * **Good Habits** are about taking action. When you complete one, you are actively contributing to the Circle's success.
      * **Bad Habits**, on the other hand, are about *avoidance* and *inaction*. Success is achieved by *not* doing something.

      Because this concept of "not doing" doesn't fit with the model of active, shared contribution, only good habits can be shared in a vircle.

      **The Solution:** If your goal is to quit a bad habit with your group, try reframing it as a positive "Good Habit." For example:

      * Instead of sharing the bad habit "*No Junk Food*," create and share a good habit called *"Eat a Healthy Snack."*
      * Instead of *"Don't Smoke,"* create and share *"Practice a Breathing Exercise."*
    </Accordion>

    <Accordion title="My completion is not counting to the Unity Streak of the circle, what should I do?">
      There are 2 possible reasons:

      * Your habit does not have the goal per day. Completions for habits with a **weekly, monthly,** or **yearly goal** will not be counted towards the Unity Streak.
      * Your habit is just shared to circle today. To ensure every member has a fair chance to see and start a new shared habit, the Unity Streak calculation for a new habit begins on the day after it is added to the circle.
